Background
- Harmsco Filtration manufactures innovative and cost-effective solutions for liquid filtration challenges.
- In business since 1958 Harmsco has expanded over the years and currently has two plants in Florida.
- Glen Blount, President of Clear Span Structures, a premiere Butler Building dealer in Florida, has been providing metal roofing services for Harmsco since 1995.
- Hank Harms, CEO of Harmsco, identified the need for solar power at his plant which in turn required a new roof, meeting current building codes, on one of his buildings that was over 30 years old.
- The team at Clear Span Structures recommended a long-term solution with a new Butler MR-24 Standing Seam Metal Roof System, the most specified metal roof system in the industry.
- Mr. Harms had recently seen a presentation by a local solar panel manufacturer and thought it was the ideal time to undertake this project and add solar panels to a new roof to provide power and reduce current energy costs at Harmsco's Riviera Beach manufacturing plant.
- Clear Span Structures and Harmsco formed a highly skilled team to efficiently bring the plan to fruition.

- Installation of a new Butler MR-24 Standing Seam Metal Roof over Roof with a rack system holding 912 solar panels WITHOUT roof penetrations, maintaining the integrity and warranty of the standing seam roof.
- Florida Power & Light approval.
- Solar tax credit availability for Harmsco Filtration Products.
